It is well known to fans of historical dramas as the temple that appears in Shotaro Ikenami's "Onihei Hankacho" series. The temple grounds also house the "Hirakawa Inari" shrine that was located within Edo Castle, as well as the "Hanazuka" (flower mound) and "Hasamizuka" (scissors mound).
Nose Myokenzan Branch Temple
This is the Tokyo branch temple of the Nichiren sect, located in Nose-cho, Toyono-gun, Osaka Prefecture. The building is small, but it is famous as a place where Katsu Kaishu, who achieved the bloodless surrender of Edo Castle, and his father Katsu Kokichi were devout followers, and where Kokichi performed a water purification ritual when Kaishu fell ill as a child. "Myoken Daibosatsu" is a celestial deity representing the North Star. It was also featured in the "Ryoma's Journey" segment of the historical drama "Ryoma Den," and many fans visit it.
